How to choose auxiliary materials(functional masterbatch)for nonwoven fabric production?
In nonwoven production line, commonly used auxiliary materials (additives) include color masterbatch, functional masterbatch, filler, etc.
In spunbond nonwoven production line, various modification additives are used to change the properties of nonwoven fabric.Generally, the modified additive is called functional masterbatch.
According to their functions, the most commonly used functional masterbatches in spunbond nonwoven fabric are: cooling masterbatch, antistatic masterbatch, anti-aging masterbatch, hydrophilic masterbatch, flame retardant masterbatch, etc.
The most commonly used functional masterbatches in melt blown nonwoven fabric are chain breaking agents to improve flow performance, nano materials to improve filtration effect, additives to enhance electrostatic electret effect, etc.
The functional masterbatch is blended with polymer melt to make the fiber have specific functions.The basic requirements for modified additives are as follows:
1.Good thermal stability, no decomposition or performance change during spinning.
2.It does not affect the spinnability of the melt, does not need special process conditions, and the spinning process has little impact on the production environment.
3.The function is durable and stable.
4.It does not obviously affect the performance of nonwoven fabric products.
5.No harm to the nonwoven fabric machine and no impact on the normal operation of the nonwoven fabric machine.
6.Small proportion, low price, sufficient supply, no special requirements for transportation and storage.
7.Non toxic or low toxic, ensuring the use safety and environmental safety of the nonwoven products.
It is a common modification measure to add modified masterbatch to nonwoven fabric to make them have specific functions. This method does not need to add special equipment, has the advantages of no change in production process, easy operation and good durability of nonwoven product functions.Its main disadvantages are: it will affect the spinnability of the melt; Some additives will produce smoke and peculiar smell in use, which will have an impact on the production environment; Some functions can not be reflected immediately, which makes the detection of modification effect and product quality control lack of real-time.
In addition to the required functions, the technical requirements for other aspects of the modified masterbatch are the same as those for the color masterbatch in principle.
