Southeast Asia includes eleven (11) countries including Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. In 2015, the region had a population of 640 million, including 10 million newborns, 300 million women and 40 million elderly people every year. The proportion of urban population in Thailand is about 50%. In 2015, the total production capacity of nonwovens was 88,000 t/a, which was far from meeting the market demand. Especially spun laced nonwovens, there is no capacity in Thailand and Southeast Asia at present. Thailand belongs to the first class economy in Southeast Asia, and has become the consumer market of feminine hygiene products, baby diapers, baby wipes and adult incontinence products. In addition, Thailand has become one of the countries with the highest penetration rate of adult incontinence products market in Southeast Asia due to its aging population and the fact that Thailand is the most popular retirement place for the elderly in various countries. As for baby diapers, Thailand has a high market penetration rate, and its product category is characterized by the most popular pull-up pants, which has occupied more than 75% of the market.
Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, enjoys convenient transportation, developed tourism and high degree of internationalization, and is also the center of exhibition industry in Southeast Asia. The exhibition held in Bangkok also attracts businessmen from neighboring countries and regions, including South Asia where India is located, Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and other countries.
