New Non – woven Fabric Materials

Experts from China’s healthcare textile industry gathered in Hanchuan, Hubei’s largest textile county, to unveil a new non-woven fabric material. It is said that the performance index of the new non-woven fabric is better than that of similar imported products in the current market, and it is expected to break the situation that domestic high-end raw materials for health-care functional textiles depend on imports.

According to Professor Ma Jianwei of Qingdao University, a research and development expert, the non-woven fabric is made by compounding natural fibers such as chitosan and seaweed. Chitosan is a kind of biopolymer extracted from chitin. The main sources of chitin are shrimp shells and crab shells, which belong to natural renewable resources.
Studies have found that chitosan and seaweed fibers have excellent antibacterial and anti-inflammatory functions and can remove heavy metals and radioactive substances. The non-woven fabric can be widely used in medical and health fields such as facial mask, diaper and artificial skin. The electromagnetic shielding fabric can be used to produce maternity clothes, baby clothes, gauze and antibacterial underwear.

Hanchuan, the largest textile county and city in Hubei, will soon become the production site of this new type of non-woven fabric. Liu Xiaohui, an entrepreneur from Hanchuan and chairman of Hainan Litian Industry, said he plans to set up a production base in Hanchuan. Currently, the first phase of 200 mu of land is under planning. He introduced that 384 silk facial mask paper produced in Japan is currently the basic domestic high-end facial mask base cloth. ” Once the new non-woven fabrics are mass produced, the import monopoly will be broken.” He said.
